How will you contribute to our magical experience?
The Manager, Data Science will join the team to lead a team focused on leveraging data and advanced analytics to drive strategic decision-making and enhance user experience.
This role should understand subscriber behavior, predict churn, and optimize various aspects of the subscriber lifecycle, framing business problems to identify appropriate analytics techniques.
The overall purpose is to provide actionable insights and build data solutions that drive business growth, improve customer retention, and optimize operational efficiencies.
The Manager, Data Science will be responsible for:
- Lead and mentor a team of data scientists to develop and implement models that predict subscriber behavior and preferences.
- Foster a collaborative environment that encourages innovation and continuous improvement.
- Build and operate a suite of propensity models to predict subscribers’ next moves, such as churn, upgrades, content consumption, and reacquisition.
- Partner closely with Subscriber Analytics, Finance, Business Operations, Product, and Engineering teams to develop models for various challenges.
- Provide actionable insights to help understand, for example, why users churn, which users are likely to upgrade, and how to increase the likelihood of content consumption.
- Oversee significant projects and tasks, ensuring they are completed on time and to a high standard.
- Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets to achieve desired outcomes.
What we need from you to be part of this story:
- 5+ years of proven experience in data teams.
- Graduates in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Statistics, Engineering, Economics, Finance, Accounting, or similar fields.
Master’s/Postgraduate degree in Analytics or Data Science is a plus. - Proficiency in programming languages (R, SQL, and Python).
- Expertise in data visualization tools such as Looker, Tableau, Power BI.
- Strong knowledge of Machine Learning and Deep Learning techniques. Ability to interpret quantitative information and communicate insights effectively to non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated leadership and project management skills, including budget and resource management.
- Advanced level of English.
