About the Role & Team

As the Director of Data Product Management at Disney Corporate, you will play a crucial role in owning and evolving our unified view of enterprise consumer data. This position is pivotal in ensuring our data products and technical architecture are best-in-class to drive robust analytics, personalization, and marketing activation. You will be responsible for the ongoing optimization and evolution of data collection and management, driving future transformation and development. Your leadership will empower internal teams across Disney, including Analytics, Data Science, Marketing, and Business teams, to leverage high-quality data for business decisions and enhanced user experiences.

What You Will Do

In this role, you will be responsible for defining the vision, strategy, and roadmap for managing our unified enterprise consumer data technical architecture and a strategic suite of related data products. You will lead cross-functional collaboration with various teams to build scalable, compliant, and highly available data products. This role matters because it ensures the effective use of cross-enterprise consumer data, driving business outcomes and enhancing user experiences. Key skills required for success include strategic thinking, technical expertise, and strong leadership abilities.

  • Own and define the vision, strategy, and technical architecture for the full data product suite, ensuring alignment with business goals and regulatory requirements.

  • Lead cross-functional collaboration with Engineering, Data Architecture, Privacy, Governance, and Business Teams to build scalable, compliant, and highly available data products to enable effective use of cross-enterprise consumer data.

  • Lead new data product ideas and initiatives, including the development of robust product roadmaps and tracking progress to build enhanced capabilities over time.

  • Oversee data engineering and operational functions, including managing inbound/outbound data feeds and system performance and availability.

  • Enable data activation by ensuring consumer data is architected for analytics, machine learning, data science, and other data use cases.

  • Develop and manage a privacy compliance technical framework, including data access and related controls.

  • Inspire individual and business success by clearly communicating the "why" behind business decisions and connecting teams to the big picture.

  • Provide continuous coaching and feedback to build trust and ensure individuals reach their highest potential.

  • Create an environment where Disney values are experienced by aligning actions to words, encouraging creative problem-solving, and ensuring everyone's voice is heard.

Qualifications & Skills

  • 12+ years of experience in data product management, platform development, data engineering, or related fields

  • Strong experience with big data storage, processing technologies, and modeling techniques (Snowflake, Redshift, OLAP, etc.)

  • Experience and familiarity with CDPs, activation platforms, and governance tools

  • Experience working with data ingestion APIs, warehouse infrastructure, and data sharing technologies

  • Strong understanding of identity resolution and effective data management

  • Proven ability to manage cross-functional teams and vendor relationship

  • Ability to translate complex business needs into clear technical requirements and deliver scalable, high-impact data solutions

  • Ability to lead, support, and grow a high-performing team

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field

  • Graduate degree in a related field


The hiring range for this position in California is $184,300 to $247,100 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
