Paralegal Specialist - Litigation

** This position is based at the Company’s headquarters in Burbank, CA with 4 days a week (Monday – Thursday) in the office.**

The Disney Corporate Litigation team is responsible for handling lawsuits, claims, and other matters on behalf of the Company and its affiliated entities throughout the U.S. and the world.  In addition, the team is responsible for providing support for responding to subpoenas, preserving electronic evidence, and providing important legal support to our many business groups and functions.  As a Paralegal Specialist, you will assist in-house and outside attorneys with all facets of case preparation in a variety of litigation matters including, intellectual property, employment, personal injury, and other business matters.  This role will suit a candidate capable of lending their abilities on complex, high profile, and sensitive legal matters.

What You Will Do

  • Demonstrate interviewing and fact-gathering abilities for discovery responses and case development.
  • Ability to review documents using electronic discovery databases.
  • Ability to draft and prepare reports for responses to claims, demand letters, and litigation requests.
  • Review pleadings, discovery responses, and other litigation documents.
  • Assist with witness interviews and depositions.
  • Demonstrate ability to review and respond to subpoenas.
  • Coordinate and handle matters within a specialized area as well as across subject matter areas.
  • Provide guidance on complex, high profile and sensitive legal matters.
  • Review and respond to unsolicited idea submissions.
  • Demonstrate ability to work with minimal direction and with a pro-active approach to problem solving.
  • Ability to discover and report efficiencies for better work flow and work product.
  • Exercise good judgment in managing and reporting information, and in communicating effectively in writing and verbally at all levels of the company.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • At least 7 + years paralegal experience.
  • High level of experience in document collection and electronic database management.
  • High level of knowledge working with electronic discovery and review.
  • Demonstrate ability to maintain utmost confidentiality when dealing with privileged, high profile, and highly sensitive information.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • A highly professional demeanor, positive outlook and a can-do attitude.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a reputable law firm or major in-house legal department.
  • Experience working in a litigation practice.

Required Education

A Bachelor’s Degree and/or qualifications to be a paralegal by certification or education and work experience as set forth by the American Bar Association and any applicable state codes.


The hiring range for this position in Burbank, CA is $102,000 to $136,700 per year based on a 40 hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
