Disney Theatrical Group is searching for a Warehouse Lead to provide support to the Production Department by being responsible for the management of several storage spaces containing theatrical equipment. This is a temporary position with an initial project term of 1 Year.

This individual must be organized, with the ability to think on their feet but also follow specific instructions and oversee medium to long-term projects. In addition, this person will be expected to spend a significant amount of time in various locations outside of the NYC metro area where overnight stays may be necessary. (New Jersey and Hudson Valley locations within a 1.5 hour drive of midtown Manhattan)

This position will report to the Manager of Production Operations.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assisting Manager of Production Operations with the cleanout and organization of storage spaces, both climate-controlled and non-climate controlled.
  • Leading and training non-union day laborers
  • Implementation of a new inventory system for all theatrical equipment
  • Shipping, receiving, and documenting equipment at various storage spaces for assorted Disney productions
  • Ensuring spaces are clean, free of hazards, and secure
  • Responding to time-sensitive production or facility-related calls
  • Assisting with load-ins and load-outs of workshops and rehearsals
  • Occasional night and weekend work as required

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in Technical Theatre as a Stagehand, Technician, Technical Director or similar
  • Must be able to lift up to 60lbs and work on your feet for an extended period of time
  • Valid Driver’s License Required
  • Must be able to maintain a Forklift Certification
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
  • Familiarity with inventory systems a plus
  • Access to a vehicle a plus

The hiring range for this position in New York is $56,929 to $73,673 per year based on a 40 hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may very based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
