Team Description:
The Security Product Engineering team within GIS at The Walt Disney Company is dedicated to creating and maintaining innovative solutions that help us navigate and mitigate risks. We blend top-tier commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) and Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions with our own in-house developments to deliver insights on current security challenges and streamline enterprise governance, risk, and compliance processes.
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Security Product Manager to drive the design, development, and integration of cybersecurity solutions. This role focuses on working hands-on with technical teams, aligning security products with business needs, and ensuring delivery of high-quality solutions that meet evolving industry requirements. Success in this role requires a blend of strategic vision, problem-solving skills, and the ability to mentor and guide others.
Responsibilities:
Product Development:
Understand requirements and translate them into detailed product specifications.
Work closely with engineering teams to design, build, and integrate cybersecurity solutions.
Oversee design engineering, automation, and COTS/SaaS product integration efforts.
Align product management objectives with business goals and oversee the planning of all product management activities.
Initiate the creation of new products and services, identifying opportunities for innovation.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Collaborate with GIS partners, technical teams, and business segments to ensure seamless integration of cybersecurity solutions.
Provide technical guidance to ensure alignment across various domains.
Technical Execution:
Conduct problem analysis and optimize processes for cybersecurity solutions.
Document processes, perform code reviews, and engage stakeholders.
Perform sprint/release planning and contribute to agile development practices.
Performance and Innovation:
Drive the delivery of innovative security solutions tailored to meet industry needs.
Maintain knowledge of networking, cloud platforms, and modern security technologies.
Must Haves:
7 years of experience in product management or as a software engineer.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with local and remote team members.
Nice To Haves:
Strong understanding of on-premises and legacy systems, including COTS servers, storage technologies, and standard operating systems (Windows and Linux).
Understanding of CNAPP platforms, API definition, and integrations.
Knowledge of multi-cloud providers and services (AWS, Google, Azure).
Familiarity with container solutions like Docker and Kubernetes.
Familiarity with data platforms such as Postgres, MSSQL, Opensearch, and Snowflake.
Familiarity with cloud services like ECS, RDS, Lambda, and Airwatch.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience
The hiring range for this position in Burbank, CA is $138,900 to $186,200 per year, Seattle, WA or New York is $145,400 to $195,000 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
