Lead Software Engineer

Job Summary: The Lead Software Engineer applies practical knowledge of development and engineering to conceive, design, develop, test, and implement software fixes, improvements, components, and/or new software systems and applications of moderate to high complexity. This role will work both with vendor supported solutions as well as internal applications and technical teams to deliver technology solutions that align to business strategies. This is also within Commerce technology and digital delivery organization, for commercial systems supporting Group sales of Resorts, Tickets and Meetings and Events.

Responsibilities:

• Design the component tasks of assigned projects, developing specifications for each
• Responsible for the development, testing, and debugging of software solutions that meet specifications and significantly impact future developments
• Write RESTful Web Services
• Code against front-end technology stack and lead end-to-end issue resolution
• Collaborate with infrastructure design and system engineering colleagues to provision new cloud based AWS environment
• Create and owns protocols, documentation, and tools for the installation and maintenance of major resilient software projects
• Own and lead development projects and teams where a project comprises multiple components; leads all aspects of project teams as required
• Serves as a high-level technical resource and "go-to" person for less expert developers, providing technical guidance and oversight.
• Work closely with technical and non-technical leaders to strategize on delivery approach and dependency management.
• Recommends improvements to processes, technology, and interfaces that improve the team's effectiveness.

• Strong interpersonal, analytical, problem solving, negotiating, and influencing skills
• Self-managing; self-starter with a high level of initiative; strong sense of ownership and urgency
• Great teammate, solution provider and proactive problem solver with good communication skills
• Manages simultaneous work streams with ease
• Experience working with vendor teams to deliver high quality results
• Possess extensive AWS manage service solution design and implementation experience
• Extensive use of CI/CD pipeline for code deployment with different tools (Git, Jenkins)
• Demonstrated experience designing and writing web services using RESTful Architecture
