The Leader of Leaders position reports to a Senior Manager within Facilities and Operations Services (FOS) at the Disneyland Resort. You will lead Hotel Engineering Services Managers and support Cast on 3rd and 1st shifts, focusing mainly on the 3rd shift starting at 2am. Responsibilities include managing Back of House spaces such as kitchens, textiles, energy plants, and MEP work, ensuring efficient and effective engineering services to support hotel operations.
Responsibilities:
Management and Leadership
• Leader of leaders, including a team of approximately 100 hourly Cast members and 4 salaried leaders in a Union environment
• Foster an inclusive and welcoming atmosphere
• Promote a positive image while ensuring a culture of fairness and accountability
• Develop and implement strategies to improve the safety of guests and cast
• Well-defined tactics to meet wide-ranging goals within set timelines
• Collaborate with Senior Manager and IFP team to support job developments
• Partner with Food & Beverage (F&B), Culinary, Hotel Operations and Facility Asset Management to strategize kitchen equipment replacement strategy.
• Schedule regular meetings with Hotel operations leadership to review open work orders and pending/scheduled repairs
• Utilize Facilities Operations Services (FOS)/technical partners effectively
• Ensure customer service and communication to operations teams and other partners, providing accurate information, with status updates
• Comfort with understanding and conveying written and verbal data and analysis to partners at all levels
• Participate in Cast recognition events
• Hold teams accountable for performance that meets or goes above and beyond and aligns with organizational vision
• Conduct regular team meetings and engage with the Cast daily
• Mentor, train, and coach team members on safe and efficient job performance
• Translate reports and data into actionable steps for performance improvement
• Strive for continuous improvement, driving strategic measures to improve guest service, cast support, and operational/equipment efficiency
• Drive team results in backlog management and issue resolution
• Understand and administer union contracts fairly and consistently.
• Oversight of all 3rd shift shutdowns and outages to ensure successful implementation and communication with all lines of business.
Technical Proficiency
• Lead projects from scope development through completion, including budgeting, resource management, scheduling, and communication.
• Demonstrate technical skill in applicable areas such as kitchens, mechanical, electrical, controls, and improve proficiency in other technical areas
• Ensure compliance with safety programs and policies
• Inspect the quality of completed preventive maintenance and reconcile it to job plans
• Be proficient in standard office software and mobile devices
• Continuously seek innovative solutions to technical challenges
Relationships
• Honor your commitments and provide realistic deliverable dates
• Cultivate relationships within Facilities Operations Services (FOS) as well as partners and clients to advance business goals
• Maintain a positive relationship with union representatives
Basic Qualifications:
• Effective communication and collaboration skills across all organizational levels
• Ability to access equipment pits, work platforms, catwalks, roofs, and similar areas via ladder
• Experience working in a Maintenance / Technical environment
• Proficiency in reading blueprints and schematic drawings
• Proficiency with MAXIMO and knowledge of HOTSOS
• Strong understanding of process control and mechanical systems
• Guest service experience
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Proven problem-solving abilities
• Computer proficiency within a Windows environment
• Experience in team management and leadership
• This position will be primarily working third shift and will require the ability to be flexible with the work schedule, including weekends and holidays
Preferred Qualifications:
• 5 or more years of leadership and technical experience in a related field
• Experience with budgets and scheduling
• Strong background in maintenance management
Required Education:
• Associate's degree or equivalent knowledge in a technical field of study. A long tenure in a facility position can offset this requirement
Preferred Education
• Bachelor's degree in a technical field of study
The hiring range for this position is $123,000.00-$152,500.00. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
